You now know your Kind., but so what? How do you actually use your Kind. to show up for the people you care about?
The beauty of your Kind. is that it is meant to use all of your existing character strenghts, and just put them into action. You don’t need to be a mental health expert or turn into someone else to help. The idea is simply to help you lean into your natural abilities more.
If you’re the Listener, you’re the person who gives people space to open up. Sometimes, just being there without judgment is the biggest gift you can give. Maybe that means scheduling a coffee catch-up or simply saying, “I’m right here when you feel like having a good old rant.”
Uplifter's, bring your fun. Send a funny meme, remind them of their wins, and keep encouraging them when things feel rough.
Sidekick's, you’re the hands-on helpers. Ask what practical thing you can do to make life easier—whether it’s cooking dinner or running errands. Even better? Just do them, because in all likelihood - they'll say there's nothing you can help with (even though we know that's not true!).
Veteran's, your lived experience matters. Share your story when it feels right and relevant, showing them they’re not alone. Let them see that tough times don’t define us—they shape us. You're the legitimate authentic character they can learn from. And SEE.
Buddy's, you are the ever-reliable presence, the ones who stick around no matter what. You don’t have to solve the problem or even talk about it. Just showing up—a walk, a movie night, or sitting together in comfortable silence— it really is that simple.
Coach's, your strength is in encouraging and inspiring others to move forward. Whether it’s helping someone set small, achievable goals or cheering them on for taking a single step, you’re their motivational anchor. Just remember: not every day is for progress—sometimes, just getting out of bed is enough.
Your Kind. Toolkit, packed with suggestions tailored to your Kind., is your go-to resource for specific ideas. But remember, it’s not about doing it all—it’s about doing what feels genuine to you.
Supporting others is a team effort, and your role in that team matters more than you might realise.
Your Kind. isn’t a box; it’s a guide. So, start small, be yourself, and let your unique strengths shine.
Those you support will thank you for it—and you might just feel pretty good about it, too.
